I don’t always do a formal end-of-year review. But I do believe there’s something quietly powerful about looking back – not with judgement or criticism, but with curiosity and care.
Because when you do that, a few things often become clear.
You realise you got through more than you thought.
You see how much you actually carried.
And you notice that you’re not the same person you were a year ago.
For me, 2025 felt like an elegant precursor to what lies ahead – a year of gently getting to know who I am, what I stand for, and what I bring to the table that’s different from anyone else.
It wasn’t flashy.
But it mattered.
Some of the things I navigated in 2025
This year asked things of me that didn’t always show up neatly on a to-do list.
- I came to terms with the fact that we’re now into my son’s final year at college — and with the ongoing reality of helping him navigate a neurotypical world while living with autism and a severe learning disability.
- I spent time away from home, on my own….twice – for the first time since Zac was born. That might sound small to some, but it was significant for me.
- And I consciously practised staying in my own lane – not getting too distracted by the successes of other coaches and small business owners online. That alone was a discipline.
What I did that really mattered
When I look back with honesty, there are a few things I’m deeply proud of.
- I won Charity Coach of the Year at the National Coaching Awards in Birmingham last January. What a start to the year that was, and it’s an achievement that still feels quietly surreal.
- I trained as a Paseda Advanced Practitioner, which has elevated my work and my business by more than a notch.
- And I doubled my revenue, earning the equivalent of what I earned in my last employed role, which felt both grounding and affirming.
None of this happened by accident. It came from consistently showing up in alignment with my values.
How I changed
The biggest shift wasn’t external.
- By doing the very work I’m trained to deliver, my self-trust has sky-rocketed, and that has influenced every other area of my life.
- I’m less likely to second-guess myself.
- I’m more willing to pause.
- And I’m far clearer about what is – and isn’t – mine to carry.
What I’m taking into 2026
If there’s one truth I’m carrying forward, it’s this:
I am enough
- Not when I’ve proven myself.
- Not when I’ve achieved more.
- But now.
And that feels like the most solid foundation I could step into the new year with.
A gentle invitation
If you’re reading this and recognising yourself in any of it, then know this:
These kinds of shifts don’t come from pushing harder or reinventing yourself. They come from creating the right conditions to listen, to reflect, and to move forward in ways that are aligned with who you actually are.
That’s the work I do – and it’s the work that has shaped my own year so profoundly.
